Location: Salzburg, Austria
Status: Competition (4th Place)
Collaboration: Flatz Architects
This design competition explored the concept of a "passive house," a structure that operates without an active heating system. The building’s warmth is achieved through controlled ventilation, enhanced insulation, and solar glazing, making it a model of energy efficiency and sustainability.
Inspired by the image of a whale breaching the water’s surface, the house emerges gracefully from the ground, blending harmoniously with its surroundings while showcasing a bold and organic architectural form. The design reflects an innovative approach to sustainable living, seamlessly combining function with minimal impact to the environment.
